A comparative analysis of the amount of hopeful news of One TV channel in the spring of 2021 and the spring of 2022 (Case of study: news 21:00 section of One TV channel)

Abstract
Objective: In a situation where social hope is one of the important components of social development – It is considered economic, Radio and TV news can be one of the promising sources. The current research was conducted with the aim of comparative analysis of the amount of hopeful news of the One TV channel in the spring of 2021 and the spring of 2022.
Method: The research method is quantitative content analysis. The statistical population of the news broadcasted from the 21:00 news section of One TV channel in the spring of 2021 and the spring of 2022 and a total of 96 news sections. The research sample was obtained by a systematic random method of 30 days (10 days each month) for each year and a total of 60 days for two specific years and the news of the selected days for analysis.
Findings: The findings of the research showed that in the spring of 2021, 29% of the news was hopeful, and in the spring of 2022, this amount was 27%. Chi-square test showed that there was no significant difference in the ratio of promising news to all news in the two years of comparison. Among the hopeful news, hope for progress has had the largest share with 40% in the spring of 2021 and 35% in the spring of 2022. From the point of view, most of the promising news in the spring of 2021 and 2022 were related to economic issues, and the least amount was devoted to construction news. In terms of human needs, the most promising news has been spread in the field of security needs and self-fulfillment, and social needs (20%) are in the second stage and self-fulfillment needs are in the third stage. In the category of hope-making dimensions, the dimension of hope for progress was the most frequent in hopeful news (40 and 35 percent), and the dimension of hope for the future was the second and the dimension of hope for life was the third. In the two years compared, the ranking of the dimensions of hope is the same in terms of relative frequency, and the difference in the ratios in the two years is small. In terms of the geographical area, the promising news in both years 2021 and 2022 was in the national area.
Conclusion: The conclusion of the research is that there is no significant difference in the amount of hopeful news in the two years under comparison, and a relatively small amount of news has been hopeful.
