The journal of News Science (NS) is an open-access peer-reviewed quarterly journal in Persian (with English abstracts and bibliographies) devoted to the fields of journalism, published by Dr. Abbas Asadi, Faculty member of Allameh Tabataba'i University (ATU). It is scientifically sponsored by the Iranian Political Sociology Association and Allameh Tabataba'i University. It is an interdisciplinary journal devoted to the publication of original articles, review articles, etc., considering the research ethics and academic rules and regulations. This double-blind peer-reviewed journal publishes original articles on the history of journalism, media, and mass communication in Iran and internationally. The journal also features historiographical and methodological essays, book reviews, and digital media reviews. It publishes articles on a broad range of perspectives relating to journalism research, practice, and education. Its emphasis is on original theoretical, empirical, and applied research, but it also provides opportunities to canvass perspectives on current debates on research, practice, and education through commentary pieces on specific topics.
The journal of News Science (NS) provides a forum for the study and critical discussion of journalism as both a subject of academic inquiry and an arena of professional practice. The journal of News Science (NS) welcomes scholarship from around the world, extending into broader media and communication topics of relevance to journalism.
The journal of News Science (NS) pursues an ambitious agenda, which encourages exploration of the widest possible range of media and specialisms associated with journalism. It does so by embracing the interdisciplinary nature of journalism studies, which has marked the field since its start. The journal is global in outlook and encourages submissions from a diverse range of geo-political backgrounds.

The journal holds the entire legal and intellectual rights related to the publication of the articles and the aforementioned rights are transfered to the journal and Allameh Tabataba'i University by submitting the articles in the journal. All papers are subject to a double-blind reviewing process. The submitted manuscripts will be published after a thorough review and the editorial board's approval. Researchers are highly appreciated if they visit this website, register, submit, and set up their papers based on the Instructions to Authors. The journal of News Science (NS) is committed to archiving, meaning long-term preservation and providing access to scientific research material published electronically in the journal of News Science (NS). This policy statement specifies the extent of the journal’s archival commitment and the relevant procedures for fulfilling this commitment. The journal of News Science (NS) will serve as an archive for all electronic content published by the journal. The content of the archive will include all the editions of this magazine with the ability to access online and publish relevant supplementary materials. The original content of published material will never change but may be supplemented by annotations or additional information due to the occurrence of errors and the need to correct content, references, and other parts that undergo changes after the original publication.
For the efficient and safe use of the online service, the journal of News Science (NS) undertakes to prepare copies from the electronic archive of publications in order to preserve information and security. Replicas are used to enable rapid delivery of content to consumers, while security replicas are kept as backup copies. The journal of News Science (NS) is committed to the periodic renewal of these reproductions. At least one security duplicate copy is kept in a separate location away from the editorial office of News Science (NS) in Tehran, Iran.
