Abstract
Since the movies have played a huge role beyond entertainment to improve cultural development and guiding public opinion, the government oversight on cinematic production in variety of ways. In Iran’s legal system, the government monitors cinematic production from scriptwriting, to the introduction of home video, such supervision is from the beginning to the end and at all stages of production and distribution .
The government’s purpose of such supervision is to maintain social norms, national security and promotion of public culture. However, the cinema activists consider such a regulation to be contrary to freedom of expression, freedom of art and artist and economics interest of the cinema industry. This article seeks to analyze the rules of supervision of cinematic production in terms of cinematographers. This paper conclude that current regulations are ineffective and, in many cases, interrupted by personal test in such a way as to disrupt investment security.
