The role of social capital through virtual social media on relative deprivation (Case study of Najafabad city)

Abstract
The aim of this study was to identify the relationship between social capital with respect to the use of virtual social media on relative deprivation among the middle-aged and elderly community (Case study of Najafabad). Based on two variables: 1) Communication and effectiveness of people through virtual social networks and  2) The impact of social capital through virtual networks on relative deprivation, Analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) And the results show that social capital has a direct and significant relationship with the degree of relative deprivation according to the news content of virtual social media. Social capital also indirectly plays a role in the news content of these media in order to expand the current level of users' trust in others. On the other hand, it was confirmed that social capital with the use of virtual social media has a direct impact on the transformation of absolute deprivation into relative deprivation and further reducing relative deprivation.
