Abstract
Objective: This research has been conducted with the aim of analyzing the news coverage of Iran's military operations against Israel (‘Operation True Promise’/ ‘Vadeh sadiq’Operation) in three important news websites of Turkey, including Anadolu, Hurriyat and Cumhuriyet. ‘Operation True Promise’ in response to the attack of the Zionist regime (Israel) on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, in the late hours of the 25th and early morning of the April 14, 2024, was reflected as an important event in regional, extra-regional and international media news.
Turkish media, due to the importance of this country in the region in terms of economic and political power, neighboring Iran, playing an active role in international and regional issues, cultural commonalities with Iran and economic and political connections with Israel and enjoying media diversity, it has been selected as the statistical population of this research.

Methods: Using the content analysis method, this research describes, analyzes and compares the categories of news direction, news source, news value, news format, reasons and consequences of ‘Operation True Promise’in these three news websites. Coding instructions were prepared based on the topic and purpose of the research, and based on that, the desired news was extracted and coded. The contents related to ‘Operation True Promise’in Anadolu, Hurriyat and Cumhuriyet news websites from April 13 to April 16 were selected as the statistical population of this research. Based on this, 202 contents related to the research topic were extracted and analyzed.

Results: The findings of the research show that "News" style (88.6%) is the most important content presentation format and "Report" and "Article" as other styles used by Turkish media in the subject under investigation. In the analysis of the sources of news published in Turkish media, citing the sources of the Zionist regime with 21.26% are the most important news sources, followed by Iran (17.14%), the United States and NATO member countries (16%). The main reason for the attention of the investigated media in Turkey to the news of the ‘Operation True Promise’was to pay attention to the news values of "confrontation" and "inclusion" with an impact on 88.5% of the investigated contents. One of the important points in the publication of news, reports and articles of the investigated media in Turkey regarding the ‘Operation True Promise’is the direction of the headlines of these media. "Neutral orientation" with 58.5% has been the most important approach, as well as the superiority of "negative orientation" (33%) over positive orientation (8.5%) in the headlines related to this operation. In this regard, the findings of the research confirm that only 17% of Turkish media headlines were published in support of the operation in question, and on the other hand, about 52% did not support the said operation.

Conclusions: According to the research findings, although the media outlets studied may have relatively distinct approaches to domestic events in Turkey, they have a similar approach to the foreign event of ‘Operation True Promise’ and a "negative" orientation. By using the word "attack" frequently, they have highlighted three messages for their audiences: "Israel's threats of response against Iran", "a call for restraint by both countries", and "America's support for Israel".
